The laboratory's primary research interests lie in the interdisciplinary fields of:
Preparation of heterogeneous catalysts and their characterization using physicochemical methods;
Nature of catalytic action and mechanisms of heterogeneous catalytic reactions;
Catalytic processes and technologies for hydrogen production via the reforming of natural gas, biogas, and bioethanol;
Hydrogen purification via the water-gas shift reaction (carbon monoxide conversion with steam), including in the presence of sulfur compounds; selective CO oxidation;
Fine purification to remove CO2 via hydrogenation to methane;
Catalysts for the combustion of volatile organic compounds and CO oxidation;
Catalysts based on layered nickel phyllosilicates for the partial hydrogenation of vegetable oils to produce high-quality hardened oils and fats as raw materials for the food industry;
Design of catalytic systems based on non-noble metals supported on carbon and ceramic materials for use as anodes in hydrogen fuel cells.
